I found a great resource for locally grown organic and naturally raised foods, Local Harvest at http://www.localharvest.org/.
They have a catalog with seeds, fibers, foods, and Community Supported Subscriptions (CSAs). The CSAs are farms that offer produce subscriptions, where buyers receive a weekly or monthly basket of produce, flowers, fruits, eggs, milk, coffee, or any sort of different farm products.
There are search engines for many features so that you can find farmers' markets, family farms, and other sources of sustainably grown food in your area, where you can buy produce, grass-fed meats, and many other goodies.
I live in a small town in the midwest and found a source in my town that I didn't know about. What a great resource!
Big companies are getting involved as more people are interested in organic and naturally raised foods. This often means a change from the small farms that have traditionally produced these foods to big farm methods. If you are interested in reading about the change in standards and how to choose the small farm ethics read Dr. Mercola's article here.
